David Hershberger
Owner and Head Coach
St Joe Bucks Football was founded in 2020 by Coach Hersh, a seasoned football coach with over five years of experience in high school football. With four years of semi-pro football under his belt, Coach Hersh brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the game to the table. Our team is dedicated to giving local athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills and giving back to the community. Coach Hersh has lead the Bucks through two undefeated seasons and an MRFL Championship.

Bubba Jackson
Assistant Head Coach
Coach Jackson, knows first-hand the benefits sports can have on a young person's life. He was born in Elwood, Kansas and raised by Daisy and Elmo Cress. Throughout his troubled youth, Coach Jackson would turn to football for support, signing up for every free program available . After sustaining a knee injury, Coach Jackson settled down with his wife Heather, and began working at Insteel Wire Products, where he has been for 21 years. They have three beautiful children together, and their first grandchild on the way. During his childrens youth, you could find Coach Jackson coaching all of their teams, including Bantam League Football, passing on his knowledge and love of football to the next generation.

Daniel Sanders III
Defensive Coordinator
Coach Sanders has been with the St Joe Bucks since 2021, and we consider ourselves lucky to have him. Although he was not blessed to play, he studies the game like no other. This makes him an excellent coach who can identify and develop talent in players. His expertise in managing our team's defensive game has been a tremendous asset to our game strategy. Outside of coaching, Sanders also works for Apple as a Technical Support Advisor and is a freelance Video Producer, Cinematographer, and Video Editor . He is married to Standup Comedian and Social Influencer Elisabeth Wykert and they share two beautiful daughters.

He understands what it takes to win - having been a player himself before becoming a coach - and he brings a unique perspective to every practice and game. What sets him apart is his willingness to learn and grow himself, both as a coach and as a person. His dedication to graphic design has added an entirely new dimension to our program. As a talented graphic designer, he takes great pride in creating high-quality artwork to represent our team and the entire football community.

Michael Mckinnon
Offensive Line Coach
Coach McKinnon is a new member of the St Joe Bucks Football team. He brings 15-16 years of football experience and a love for the game that is unmatched. It is clear that his passion for football extends beyond just playing and coaching, he even enjoys watching it. He works tirelessly with the offensive line, ensuring they possess the skillset and knowledge to make every game a success. His dedication to developing skills and character in players both on and off the field is what sets him apart.

As a veteran of the army after serving 20 years, and with experience playing high school and semipro football, Coach Miller has a unique perspective that will help our players thrive. He is dedicated to bringing a new level of intensity and attention to detail to the team and will work tirelessly to help players exceed their own expectations. With his expertise, we are confident that our special teams will reach new heights this season and beyond.

Ryan Danner
Offensive Coordinator
Coach Ryan Danner has been coaching high school football for over 4 years and is passionate about helping players reach their full potential. He has coached both sides of the ball as well as special teams. He is committed to creating an atmosphere of hard work, dedication and player development. Our team is focused on providing the tools and support that players need to succeed both on and off the field.

Special Teams Cordinator
Coach Russ as helped coach his sons football teams for a few seasons when he played for the St Joe Thunder. Attending all of his games with the Lafayette Fighting Irish and attending some football camps. Russ has also coached his daughter softball team for 5 seasons.
He also played semi-pro football at the WR/LB/ ST positions for 2 seasons. ​

Anthony Temple
Offinsive Line Coach
Coach Temple has 30 years as Semi-Pro Offensive Lineman with the CNY Warriors of New York, First City Calvery out of Leavenworth KS, KC Reapers out of Kansas City MO, and the St Joe Bucks. This will be his first as coach but his veteran leadership and through all the years of of experience should lead to be invaluable for the Bucks!!

Makayla Hershberger
Owner and wife of Head Coach
Most players refer to her as Momma Mak, the co-owner of the Bucks football team and the proud wife of our head coach David Hershberger. With over three years of experience as a Head high school softball coach, five years coaching various sports, and being a former athlete, she has seen firsthand the incredible impact that sports can have on individuals and communities. Mak believes in the power of being part of something bigger than ourselves, and that's why she dedicates her time and effort to supporting and owning the Bucks. She and her husband make a great team! Join them in embracing the power of sports, fostering a sense of community, and making lifelong connections.

Meet Katie, our team manager. With her organizational skills and attention to detail, we've achieved great success both on and off the field. From creating our schedules to designing our graphics, Katie is involved in every aspect of our team's operations. Providing critical support both on and off the field, her exceptional organizational skills ensure that everything runs smoothly. Katie offers support to our coaches and players, ensuring that they have everything they need to develop and grow. Katie's talent as our team photographer and editor ensures we have high-quality content to share with our fans. Our staff does whatever it takes to make sure Bucks Football is exceptional.
RiKKY DANNER
GM, Announcer, Music
The voice of St Joe Bucks Football!! Rikky has been the announcer for the Osborn-Stewartsville Wildcards for the past 3 seasons in football and baseball. While a diehard football and hockey fan, he also coached his daughter's basketball team for 6 years. He is dedicated to the owners, staff and fans and is always looking to get the crowd and team pumped up on game day!!

The St Joe Bucks Football team is proud to have Bucky as our mascot. While their true identity may be a secret, their actions and energy are what keep our fans engaged and excited throughout the games. Bucky is always at the forefront of team spirit, leading the crowd and encouraging players both on and off the field. Their antics and high-flying acrobatics make even the loudest cheerleaders look tame.
